BNP Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu alleged that certain advisers [of the interim government] who once lived in dormitories and tutored for a living, are now living a luxurious life.
“Some advisers who once lived in dormitories and relied on tutoring for income are now driving luxury cars worth crores. Some even boast fleets of hundreds of vehicles,” Bulu said while distributing Eid gifts to the families of July martyrs in Noakhali yesterday (3 April).
He further said, “Those who want to destabilise the country and implement foreign agendas, advocating for a Constituent Assembly election instead of fair elections. They desire an unelected government, not a democratically elected one.”
He highlighted the united stance of 50 alliances, emphasising that national elections are the only solution to the nation’s crisis.
Bulu criticised the extravagant spending of these political figures, citing events like a Tk5 crore iftar party and a Tk15-20 crore launch event of their party.
He also alleged that they [the political figures] exert undue influence on administrative appointments, pressuring officials to favour their supporters.
The BNP leader condemned acts of violence and mob justice, stating that only elections can restore order.
