Despite ongoing economic uncertainties and political transitions, Bangladesh is showcasing its robust industrial capabilities and export potential, according to government officials and industry leaders.

At the International Convention City Bashundhara, Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin opened the two-day Meet Bangladesh Exposition by praising local business owners for their tenacity and inventiveness and emphasising their contribution to the country’s economic transformation.

Bashir Uddin highlighted continuous policy changes meant to make conducting business easier, like the establishment of a national single window platform that will simplify trade procedures, increase transparency, and reduce transaction costs. He pointed out that Bangladesh has maintained consistent export performance in spite of current economic constraints and is soon to reap the benefits of declining operating expenses.

Suhail Kassim, the World Bank’s senior operations officer and acting country director, praised Bangladesh’s achievements and reiterated the organization’s dedication to raising the nation’s industrial competitiveness outside of the ready-made clothing market. He mentioned programs like the Private Investment and Digital Entrepreneurship (PRIDE) project, which supports technological parks and economic zones, as well as a private sector diagnostic to direct export diversification and strategic reforms.
