Bangladesh economy grows 3.35% in Q4 FY25: BBS

Bangladesh’s economy expanded at 3.35 per cent in the fourth quarter (Q4) of fiscal 2024-25 (FY25), according to provisional estimates released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

It grew at 2.14 per cent in Q4 FY24, reflecting a modest recovery in overall economic activity.

The industrial sector registered the highest growth, expanding by 4.10 per cent in the quarter, up sharply from 1.08 per cent in the corresponding period a year earlier.

Growth in the agriculture sector, however, slowed to 3.01 per cent, down from 4.11 per cent in the same period of FY24, domestic media outlets reported.

The services sector also weakened slightly, posting 2.96 per cent growth compared with 3.61 per cent during the year-ago period.
