The country’s overall economic situation remains stable and the economy will perform even better if there is no political instability, Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur said today (8 November).

He made the remark while speaking as the chief guest at a regional seminar on MFI–Bank linkage, organised by the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA), at a resort in Basail, Tangail this afternoon.

Speaking about the progress in recovering laundered money, the governor said, “Lawyers have been sent to England from various banks. Efforts are underway to establish the claims of different groups of companies. If successful, this will yield positive results soon.”
