DHAKA, Nov 14, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh’s Non-Resident Ambassador to
Luxembourg Khandker Masudul Alam presented his Letters of Credence to Grand
Duke Guillaume V in Luxembourg City, highlighting Bangladesh’s commitment to
strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in trade, finance,
investment, and climate-related collaboration.

Bangladesh’s Non-Resident Ambassador formally presented his credentials at
the Grand Ducal Palace in a ceremony conducted with full diplomatic
courtesies, said a press release received here.

The Marshal of the Court, senior officials of the Luxembourg Royal Household,
the Ambassador’s spouse, and officials from the Embassy of Bangladesh in
Brussels attended the event.

Following the ceremony, His Royal Highness the Grand Duke held a formal
meeting with the Ambassador. At the outset, Ambassador Alam conveyed the warm
greetings and best wishes of the President and the Chief Adviser of the
Government of Bangladesh.

The discussions covered a wide range of bilateral issues, including trade
expansion, cooperation in the financial sector, enhancing Luxembourg’s
investment in Bangladesh, environment and climate change collaboration, the
conclusion of a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement, and the possibility of
establishing direct air connectivity between the two countries.

The Grand Duke reaffirmed that Luxembourg, like Bangladesh, attaches great
importance to further strengthening bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the Grand Duke fondly recalled earlier interactions of
himself and his family with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad
Yunus, expressing his personal commitment to continuing the work initiated by
his mother, Maria Teresa, particularly in the areas of microcredit and
poverty alleviation.

On behalf of the President and the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, Ambassador
Alam extended an invitation for His Royal Highness to visit Bangladesh in the
near future.
