This shared ambition emerged during a bilateral meeting between Turkish Trade Minister Prof Dr Omer Bolat and Bangladesh’s Information Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam, held on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025 in Türkiye on Friday.

The two sides engaged in a comprehensive discussion focused on boosting bilateral trade, fostering investment, and identifying sectors with high potential for mutual cooperation.
Adviser Mahfuj Alam encouraged Turkish investors to explore the opportunities available within Bangladesh’s economic zones. He highlighted the government’s initiatives to ensure a business-friendly environment and stressed that Bangladesh remains open and eager to welcome foreign investment.
Prof Dr Omer Bolat, reaffirming Türkiye’s interest in deepening commercial ties with Bangladesh, described the bilateral relationship as “historic and grounded in mutual respect.” He also proposed that the next meeting of the Türkiye-Bangladesh Joint Economic Commission be held in Dhaka later this year. The initiative aims to institutionalize economic dialogue and accelerate collaborative efforts.
The meeting took place in the backdrop of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which has brought together global leaders, ministers, and diplomats to deliberate on pressing international issues. For both Bangladesh and Türkiye, the discussion marks a renewed effort to unlock trade potential and foster enduring economic engagement.
