DU VC for collective efforts to safeguard environment

DHAKA, April 17, 2025 (BSS) –  Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan today laid emphasis on collective efforts for protecting environment to make the planet livable for all.  

   

“Human-induced practices are largely responsible for environmental degradation . . . so, we have to focus on ecological balance through avoiding any harmful practices,” he said.  

 

The Vice-Chancellor was speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled ‘Forest and Food’ held at the conference room of Botany department of the Dhaka University. Bangladesh Botanical Society organized the seminar on the occasion of the International Forest Day.  

President of the Bangladesh Botanical Society professor Md Azizur Rahman presided over the seminar while Mukit Majumdar Babu, chairman of ‘Prokriti O Jibon foundation’ spoke as the special guest and Professor Ashfak Ahmed presented the keynote paper of the seminar.
