BUFFALO, N.Y. — More than 50,000 people from the Bengal region of South Asia and the nation of Bangladesh now call WNY home. To celebrate their culture and community, Buffalo will host an inaugural Eid Fest on Saturday, September 14 from 11am to 2pm at the Buffalo Central Terminal.

Many of Buffalo’s Bengali population live in the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood, making the terminal a perfect location for the gathering. The festival is in partnership with The Buffalo Bangla, the region’s Bengali newspaper, and the Buffalo Central Terminal.

The celebration will feature Bengali food, clothing and music. Live performances include music from Bengali modern pop artists like Mohsin Reza, Reni Seddiqui, and Polash Roy. Festival goers will find businesses such as RFC, Mimi’s Fashion, Mouchak Fashion, and Farhana Fiha selling food, clothes, jewelry and henna.

This event is free and open to the community to visit. Per the festival’s Facebook page, Eid Fest is “welcoming everyone to enjoy a day filled with live music, delicious food, and diverse vendors.”
