Bangladesh Jamaat‑e‑Islami and the National Citizen Party’s 11‑party alliance will announce their seat‑sharing deal today (14 January).
Senior leaders of several parties confirmed the information on Tuesday night.
The announcement is most likely to be made at 10am in a press conference for the announcement of the seat‑sharing deal, Bangladesh Jamaat‑e‑Islami Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Zobair told The Business Standard yesterday.
National Democratic Party spokesperson and Vice‑President Rashed Pradhan said the deal is more or less finalised.
According to sources, the senior leaders held a meeting together yesterday to take the final decision.
Leaders of several other parties said although there have been rumours of disputes in this regard at the grassroots level, senior leaders are much more sincere.
