Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher has alleged that some advisers in the interim government are working in favour of one particular party, asking Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus to remove them from his Advisory Council.
Speaking at a human chain from Jatrabari to Gabtoli in the capital today (14 October), which he said stretched 20km, the Jamaat leader did not mention the name of the party.
Taher, however, said if Yunus wants the names of the advisers, Jamaat can provide them through its source.
Jamaat leaders and activists formed the human chain this morning to press home five demands, which include holding a referendum on the July National Charter in November before the general election and proportional representation.

Taher also threatened to name the advisers publicly, but added that the disaster that follows would be the government’s responsibility.
Taher also called on the chief adviser to stop “conspiracies” within the administration.
If things continue as they are now, the party will hold the chief adviser responsible, he warned.
Taher, among others, addressed the demonstration organised by the Dhaka north and south city units of the party.
The party’s five demands are holding the national election in February after giving the July National Charter a legal basis through a referendum in November; introducing proportional representation in both houses, including a proposed upper house, via a referendum; ensuring a level playing field for a free and fair election; delivering visible justice for oppression, atrocities, mass killings and corruption by the fallen “fascist government;” and banning the activities of the Jatiyo Party and others in the 14-party alliance, who are “allies of dictatorship.”
