Major General (Retd) Md Nazrul Islam has been appointed as the executive member (Planning and Development) of the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).
He took charge on Sunday, July 20, according to a BEZA press release.
Earlier, he served as the executive chairman of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), said the press release.
In his illustrious and glorious career in the Bangladesh Army, Nazrul Islam served in various capacities as command, staff and trainer, according to the release.
After joining BEZA, he will work to make ready government’s five priority economic zones – National Special Economic Zone, Sreehatta Economic Zone, Jamalpur Economic Zone, Moheshkhali Economic Zone, and Japanese Special Economic Zone – for investment within the stipulated time, the release added.
