The Bangladeshi diaspora came together to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in Boulder in Colorado in the United States on Saturday.
Organised by the Bangladeshi Student Association at the University of Colorado Boulder, the daylong festivities featured a range of indoor and outdoor games alongside cultural activities.
Attendees included Bangladeshi students pursuing higher education at the university, their families, students from various other countries, as well as Bangladeshi professionals and their families residing in neighbouring areas of Boulder.
The event offered a variety of traditional Bangladeshi cuisine for all to enjoy, according to a press release.
Musabber Ali Chisty, the president of the association, highlighted the event’s significance in fostering community among Bangladeshis living abroad and fostering cultural exchange with international students.
‘As we are far from home, our primary aim was to celebrate Eid with the Bangladeshi community and our fellow international students. We look forward to organising more events to promote Bangladeshi culture and traditions in Boulder,’ he said.
Sponsored by the University of Colorado-Boulder as part of its diversity enhancement initiatives, the event underscored the university’s commitment to supporting cultural diversity and inclusivity among its student body, the release said.
