DHAKA, April 6, 2025 (BSS) – Environment, Forest and Climate Change Affairs Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan today reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to protecting the environment and promoting public welfare.

While speaking at a meeting with ministry officials and staff at the secretariat here, she emphasised adopting a positive mindset in addressing environmental challenges.

Rizwana urged government officials to engage with creativity and dedication at the service of the people, stressing the need for a transformation in institutional and individual attitudes.

“A priority action list has been formulated,” she said.

“It must be adhered to sincerely. Immediate action must be taken on any complaints. Regular monitoring and supervision are essential to ensure effective implementation,” she added.

Mentioning the recent Eid festivities, she remarked, “We have shared the joy of Eid with our families. Now is the time to return to our duties with renewed energy.”

The environment adviser called upon all officials to discharge their responsibilities with utmost professionalism, integrity, and dedication.

The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary (Development) Md. Khayrul Hasan, Additional Secretary (Environment) Dr. Fahmida Khanom, and other senior officials of the ministry.

Later, she exchanged views with officials of the Ministry of Water Resources.

Rizwana directed the officials of the Ministry of Water Resources to take necessary measures, including excavating water bodies and ponds, to ensure potable water in water-scarce areas of the country, including Koyra, Asashuni, Subarnachar and Patiya.

Secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources Nazmul Ahsan and officials of the ministry and subordinate departments were present.
