Rizwana for US-Bangladesh cooperation to address climate challenges

DHAKA, Jan 22, 2025 (BSS)- Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan has stressed the need for Bangladesh-US cooperation to address the challenges of climate change as US Charge d’ Affairs Tracey Ann Jacobson made a courtesy call on her at the Department of Environment (DoE) here today.
During the meeting, they discussed on enhancing mutual cooperation in addressing important environmental challenges including environment protection, promotion of renewable energy and conservation of biodiversity, a press release of the ministry said.
Razwana said the government is pledge bound to implement the innovative and sustainable policy for protecting the environment.
The US diplomat assured the adviser of supporting Bangladesh’s initiative for biodiversity protection and development of renewable energy.
He lauded the government’s endeavor for taking forward the development agenda of the country along with resolving the environmental problem.
Both sides agreed to continue dialogue and explore further avenue for collaboration to achieve shared goals for environment sustainability and resilience.
The meeting reflects the strong partnership between Bangladesh and the United States in promoting a green and more sustainable future, the press release said.
Environment Secretary and senior officials from the US embassy in Dhaka were present.
