National Citizen Party (NCP) has officially denied reports that its Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary has resigned from his position, confirming that he remains fully engaged in party work.

The party’s clarification comes after multiple unconfirmed reports suggested Patwary had submitted a letter of resignation two weeks ago to the convener and member secretary, citing complications regarding his post.

Saleh Uddin Sifat, joint member secretary (office) of NCP, issued a concise statement on Facebook, dismissing the reports as incorrect.

“Nasiruddin Patwary is still with us. He recently performed his duties regarding party registration work at the Election Commission. Furthermore, as Chief Coordinator, he is responsible for various wings. The matter of his resignation or his departure from the party is not correct.”

Earlier reports, quoting anonymous NCP sources, had suggested that Patwary was stepping down due to internal confusion over his role.

The reports claimed that Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain was expected to join the party and take charge of election and organisational activities — a role currently managed by Patwary.

This proposal, reportedly met with silent approval from NCP’s top leadership, was cited as the reason for Patwary’s dissatisfaction and resignation.

However, the statement from the NCP’s Saleh Uddin now firmly contradicts the reports of Patwary’s departure, asserting that he is fully functional and committed to his role as the newly-formed party’s chief coordinator.
