The “unjust repression” during the Awami League regime caused the deterioration in BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s health, the party’s Standing Committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan said today (29 November).

“The country’s leading physicians have been providing round-the-clock care to the BNP leader and are trying everything possible under modern medical science,” he said at a prayer gathering organised by Jatiotabadi Ulama Dal at BNP’s central office in the capital’s Naya Paltan.

Moyeen also noted that democracy-minded people across Bangladesh are praying in their homes for Khaleda Zia.

“If you do not witness it yourself, you cannot fathom how deeply people love her,” he said.

Wishing for her good health, Moyeen said, “May Allah grant Khaleda Zia a full recovery. She is a champion of democracy and an uncompromising leader whom the people of Bangladesh trust.”

“She has never compromised with any unjust policy. We expect the Almighty will fully restore her health,” he added.
