Iran’s Ambassador, Mansour Chavoshi, met with Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Md. Touhid Hossain, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations. Their conversation focused on diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Chavoshi congratulated the Foreign Adviser on his recent appointment, relaying a message from the Iranian Foreign Minister. In response, the Foreign Adviser emphasized the deep historical and cultural bonds between Bangladesh and Iran, underscoring the potential for enhanced collaboration in various sectors.

The Ambassador highlighted Iran’s desire to deepen ties by proposing the signing and renewal of agreements on investment, preferential trade, tariff reductions, visa exemptions, cultural exchanges, city-to-city partnerships, and media collaboration. Both sides stressed the importance of expanding cooperation, particularly in healthcare, tourism, education, and knowledge-based industries, with a special focus on advanced technology.

Ambassador Chavoshi expressed gratitude for Bangladesh’s longstanding support on international platforms and voiced hope for continued collaboration in future global initiatives. The two officials also discussed holding the next round of Foreign Office Consultations and resuming the Joint Commission meeting in Tehran, exploring ways to address current challenges and seize new opportunities for cooperation.
