We will remain united on national issues: Asif Mahmud

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2025 (BSS) – Local Government and Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan has asserted that all will remain united on national issues.

“There will be positive competition and rivalry in the politics of Bangladesh. . . Despite hundreds of competitions, we will remain united on national issues,” he wrote in a post on his verified Facebook page.

There will be efforts or debates about who is more advanced in doing people’s welfare, but in the political culture of Bangladesh, there will be no enmity with anyone except fascist forces.

The adviser said, “We will remain united on the issue of sovereignty and dignity of this country against all hegemonic forces.”

Asif Mahmud said the people of this region never made any compromise on the issue of dignity from ancient times to till today.

“We will once again grow as a self-sufficient Bengal like in the Middle Age,” he said, adding: “The superpowers will be forced to consider us as an independent entity and Bangladesh will be a reason of jealousy for its neighbours through its economic and social growth in days to come.”

For this, the adviser said, consensus on some basic principles is required despite differences of opinions. “Then no external enemies would be able to use us against ourselves,” he said.

“National interests will get priority over petty individual or group interests,” the adviser added.

“I dream of such a Bangladesh. It is essential to have consensus of understanding among all anti-fascist forces to build such a Bangladesh.”
