Beneficiaries of social forestry will receive financial support from the Climate Trust Fund instead of profits from tree sales, said Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources.

She made the remarks today (9 February) at a discussion in Rangpur Circuit House, stressing the need to protect social forestry trees and plant native species instead of Acacia and Eucalyptus, according to a press release.

The adviser highlighted the necessity of effective coordination among government agencies to protect the environment. She stated that combating deforestation, pollution, and water crises requires collective efforts.
