Amid Bangladesh’s economic crisis, Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus has sought financial help from a Muslim country. After distancing himself from India, Yunus is now hoping for investment and cooperation from this country after China and Pakistan.

Bangladesh is going through an economic and political crisis since the fall of Sheikh Hasina and it is very difficult for it to come out of it without India. After distancing itself from India, Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus of Bangladesh is sometimes seen pleading for help from Pakistan and sometimes from China.

Bangladesh’s relations with India have always been good, but the new government’s inclination towards China and Pakistan has created a rift between them. China and Pakistan are also unable to do any good for Bangladesh. Now Bangladesh has sought help from Qatar. Mohammad Yunus met Qatar’s ambassador Seraya Ali Al-Qahtani and appealed to Qatari businessmen to look for opportunities in his country.

Yunus met the Qatari ambassador

Mohammad Yunus met Qatar’s ambassador Seraya Ali Al-Qahtani at the state guest house Jamuna, where Yunus conveyed his government’s message to Qatar. After which Al-Qahtani said that Qatar has given its full support to the reform agenda of the interim government of Bangladesh. He further said that Qatar is eager to provide every kind of support to Bangladesh. After the meeting, Mohammad Yunus thanked the Emir of Qatar for his support and friendly behavior with Bangladesh.

Investment Conference in April

Yunus stressed the need to further strengthen trade and investment ties with Qatar. He invited Qatari businessmen to invest in Bangladesh and set up their factories in several economic zones of the country.

“Bangladesh is now ready for business. We want Qatari businessmen to look for opportunities in Bangladesh,” Yunus said, adding that an investment summit would be held in Dhaka in early April.
