NATORE, May 19, 2025 (BSS) – Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser

Syeda Rizwana Hasan today said protecting the environment and controlling

pollution is not the sole responsibility of the government but it is a

collective duty.

She emphasised the need for active participation from the general public,

students, and social organisations.

“This is time to act for the environment. If the youth become aware and

engaged, a pollution-free Bangladesh can truly become a reality,” she said.

The environment adviser made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at

a discussion with local environmental organisations and students held at the

Natore Circuit House here.

In her speech, she expressed concern over industrial waste, calling it a

serious threat to the environment.

Rizwana noted that the government is taking active steps to control

industrial pollution and emphasised the importance of effective liquid waste

management.

The meeting was attended, among others, by Natore Deputy Commissioner Asma

Shaheen, Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. Marufat Hossain along with

students from various educational institutions and environmental activists.

The students expressed their commitment to environmental protection and

raised various questions to the adviser.

In response, Rizwans urged the youth to get involved in the environmental

movement.

“Today’s conscious decisions will ensure a livable Bangladesh for future

generations,” she concluded.
