Light to moderate rain, thundershowers likely over parts of country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (6 June) forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind at different parts of the country for the next 12 hours beginning this morning.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions, the forecast added.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country’s maximum temperature yesterday (5 June) was recorded 35.2 degrees celsius at Rajshahi in Rajshahi division while today’s minimum temperature was recorded 22.8 degrees celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded at 24 millimetres (mm) at Gopalgonj in Dhaka division.

The sun sets at 6.45pm today and rises at 5.10am tomorrow in the capital.
