RANGPUR, June 11, 2025 (BSS) – Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) member-secretary Akhtar Hossen has said that the appeal of Jatiya Party in Bangladesh’s national politics has already ended.

“Jatiya Party (JP) has played the role of a broker for Awami League. The main political ally of Awami League was Jatiya Party. The party has played the role of legitimizing every vote-rigging and one-sided election held in Bangladesh,” he said.

Akhter said this while talking to local reporters after inaugurating the NCP’s upazila office in Pirgachha upazila town of Rangpur on Wednesday afternoon as the chief guest.

He said, “We no longer consider those who have cheated the people’s voting rights and opened the way for oppression of the people of Bangladesh to be relevant in Bangladeshi politics.”

He said every person and party who have politically supported Awami League in the past and associated themselves with Awami League activities in various ways should be brought under the law of the land.

Akhtar Hossen further said Jatiya Party has not yet apologized to the nation for the deception they have committed against the people.

He said, “We will appeal to the people to build social resistance against Awami League, Jatiya Party and all the allies of fascism, so that no authoritarian party ever gets a chance to do politics in Bangladesh again.”

For this, he called upon the people of Bangladesh to work together as an anti-fascist force.

Earlier, Akhtar Hossen inaugurated the Pirgachha upazila office of NCP in front of the Pirgachha upazila parishad today.

Moderated by NCP leader Shamim Hossain, various professionals including former chairmen and members of union parishad and teachers spoke at the event.
