Twenty-two political parties have demanded the formation of a judicial investigation committee within 48 hours and the immediate arrest of those responsible for the recent attack on Nurul Haque Nur, president of the Gono Odhikar Parishad.

The call came after a meeting of the parties at the Gono Odhikar Parishad central office in Dhaka this evening (1 September).

Nur was injured on 29 August as law enforcers charged batons after a clash broke out between activists of his party and Jatiyo Party in the capital’s Kakrail.
