The interim government in Bangladesh has called for maintaining a fair and safe environment in factories and the overall domestic law and order situation, the home ministry recently said.

“The government is very sincere and keen with the reasonable demands like salaries, allowances and other dues of workers in various mills and factories, including the garment industry,” a statement from the ministry said.

“Necessary instructions in this regard have been given to the owners and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and their activities are being monitored also,” domestic media outlets quoted the statement as saying.

The interim government in Bangladesh has called for maintaining a fair and safe environment in factories and the overall domestic law and order situation, the home ministry recently said.
“The government is very sincere and keen with the reasonable demands like salaries, allowances and other dues of workers in various mills and factories, including the garment industry,” a ministry statement said.

“However, creating unrest in the readymade garments (RMG) sector, blocking traffic, anarchy and violence in the name of unfair and unreasonable demands is not desirable and will never be accepted,” the statement further said.

The government will strictly prevent it with the help of law enforcement agencies, it added.
