Education Institutions to observe World Environment Day on June 25

Education Institutions to observe World Environment Day on June 25

DHAKA, June 18, 2025 (BSS) – The government has asked all educational institutions to observe the programs of World Environment Day on June 25. 

Marking the day the education institutions will take programme for tree plantation and rearing of tree plants aiming to their campuses green.

A letter in this regard has been sent to all district education officials and other concerned from the physical education section of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education today.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has decided to observe the World Environment Day-2025 on June 25 instead of June 5 due to Eid holiday.

Chief Adviser of the Interim government Professor Muhammad Yunus will inaugurate the programs of the day on June 25.

The programs of the day include- cleansing the premises of institutions and classrooms, tree plantation and nurturing of the planted tree and making students aware for curbing the use of plastic and polythene, motivate  them for using environment friendly goods and ingredients.

On the day processions will also be brought out and discussion, seminar and debate competition will be held highlighting the importance of the day.
