JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Nov 1, 2025 (BSS) – The Nature Conservation Initiative (NCI), a Jahangirnagar University-based environmental organization, organized the day-long “Nature Fest 2025” today.

NCI organized the event in collaboration with Envolead and GRM Consulting Services Limited at the seminar room of the Zahir Raihan Auditorium.

The festival was inaugurated by JU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, who attended as the chief guest.

Other distinguished guests included Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr. Sohel Ahmed, NCI Chief Adviser Prof Dr. Md. Monwar Hossain, Prof Md. Jamal Uddin of the Environmental Sciences Department, GRM Consulting Services Limited Chairman Abdul Hamid, Executive Officer (Innovation & Sustainability) of Envolead Limited Md. Abu Rahat, NCI President FatinIdrak, and NCI General Secretary Purnima Kabir.

This year, approximately 500 students from various universities, schools and colleges participated in the event.

The program began with a symbolic tree plantation and plaque unveiling ceremony, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation.

This was followed by various exciting activities, including a children’s drawing competition, a photo exhibition, and a project and idea exhibition showcasing innovative, environmentally-friendly initiatives by university students.

As the day progressed, there were poster presentations and a quiz competition, where participants demonstrated their knowledge of environmental issues and climate change.

The highlight of the day was the exhilarating treasure hunt, where participants searched for clues across the campus.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners were awarded for their outstanding contributions and knowledge in environmental conservation.

Through this event, NCI aims to inspire the younger generation to become more conscious and responsible toward the environment, contributing to a more sustainable future.
