A new plot is being hatched to destabilise Bangladesh again and plunge it into danger, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said today (24 March).

“All the institutions that are very important in protecting the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh are being made controversial. Especially the army is being made controversial,” Fakhrul said at an iftar mahfil of BNP Media Cell at Ladies Club.

BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman spoke on the occasion virtually from London.

“There will have no benefit of the conspiracy. Its only purpose is to endanger the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh as it was perpetrated during fascist government,” Fakhrul said.

He said attempt is being made to make the country unprotected.

“A wicked attempt is going on to discredit our patriotic army, which has stood by the nation during all crucial moments,” said Fakhrul.

The BNP secretary general said journalists as the conscience of the nation also always stood beside the nation during all critical time.

Fakhrul sought support of the journalists to fight the smear campaign against BNP.
